CCPHD's Choices program provides pregnancy testing and counseling, reproductive health services for all people, and contraceptive services (birth control) to allow all individuals in Calhoun County to achieve desired birth spacing and family size.

Teen Pregnancy Rate in Calhoun County
Teen pregnancy is associated with increased social and economic costs and has immediate and long-term effects on teen parents, their children, and communities (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention). Infants born to pregnant teens are more likely to be premature, have low birth weight, and are at higher risk for death. Having a baby can also negatively impact the pregnant teen’s health and their educational and job opportunities.
Teen pregnancies in Calhoun County have seen an overall decrease since 2014 but the rate has been slowly increasing the past couple years. More information on teen pregnancies can be found on the Teen Pregnancy Rate page.

Appointments can include STI testing, birth control, pregnancy tests, cancer screenings, and counseling on reproductive health.
